Hillman Register of South Australia

The Hillman Car Club of South Australia Inc. was formed on 10th May 1988, by members who (at the time) still drove their Hillman cars for normal daily use. On the 23rd of October 2025, we became part of the new Rootes Group Auto Club of SA, as the Hillman Register. The Hillman Register meets on the first Wednesday of the month* at Seven 22, 722 Port Road, Beverley at 6pm for a meal, or 7pm for the meeting. (*no meeting in January)

Our main objective is the preservation of Hillman, Commer and Karrier vehicles and derivatives thereof. Additionally, we aim to provide a source of information about those vehicles and provide assistance to people wishing to own and maintain Hillmans or who simply have an interest in them.

Members' cars are varied, ranging from a 1913 Hillman Roadster (the oldest Hillman in Australia and believed to be one of two remaining in the world), a 1932 roadster and 1935 sedan, through various models of Minx to 1967, Hillman Husky, rear engined Imps and Hunters of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Members also own other Rootes Group vehicles, some of which were models uniquely marketed in Australia e.g. Hillman Gazelle and Humber Vogue. Commercial vehicles are represented by the heavier Commer and Karrier trucks.
